Eko-Przedszkolaki — edition III

The spring edition of Eko-Przedszkolaki launched in May 2022. This time, we invited Warsaw’s public preschools: 12 joined the programme, bringing the workshops to 300 children.

A better world starts with the youngest

The spring edition was another chapter in Eko-Przedszkolaki, the programme through which the Bespoke Foundation introduced children to nature and environmentally responsible habits. Our starting point was children’s curiosity and the belief that caring for the world around us can become a natural part of everyday life.

In May 2022, we involved 12 public preschools across selected Warsaw districts. By working together, we reached 300 children.

Four workshops connected to everyday life

  • Following a plastic bottle

Children explored the life cycle of plastic waste. An ordinary bottle became a starting point for talking about rubbish and what happens to it next.

  • Who cleans the streets?

Who really keeps our city clean? Together, we considered what we can do to care for the urban spaces we share.

  • A great dragon… or rather, SMOG!

We met the invisible dragon that pollutes our air and learned how to fight it. This image helped make a difficult concept easier for children to understand.

  • Water from the tap: how does it work?

Children learned about the journey water takes and who keeps it clean before it reaches our taps. An everyday action became an opportunity to explore a bigger process.

Explore, experience, change habits

The programme combines learning with play. Direct observation, experiments and meetings with passionate educators help children take an interest in the world around them. This is the beginning of building environmental habits that can stay with them beyond preschool.

Working with preschool teachers also matters. The programme envisaged introducing children to the topics before the workshops and returning to them in everyday preschool life. We wanted workshop experiences to lead to further questions, conversations and small changes in behaviour.

Working together makes a difference

We believe that working together and changing everyday habits can help create a better world for everyone.
