Winter incentive travel – from Lapland to Iceland
When snow appears briefly in Polish cities and grey skies linger for weeks, more and more companies are looking for ways to transport their teams to a completely different world during the winter season – one full of light, nature and adventure. Because incentive travel is not just about palm trees and turquoise seas. It is also about white as far as the eye can see, the sound of crunching snow and an atmosphere that cannot be found anywhere else.
Lapland – a land of snow, silence and the Northern Lights
Last winter, we took our customers to Finnish Lapland. We started in the traditional way – with a visit to Santa Claus’ village in Rovaniemi. But that was just the beginning. The best part starts when you stray from the main trails.
A two-day snowmobile safari on a frozen river, body floating in an ice hole, hot tubs under the open sky and the Northern Lights dancing over the lake – this is not a film script, but a real incentive travel trip. For the brave – a dip in ice-cold water, followed by a bonfire and local snacks in the middle of the taiga.
The next day? Trekking in snowshoes, overnight stay in a wooden hut overlooking the forest and workshops with the Saami – the indigenous people of the north. Their stories about reindeer, nature and traditions are more captivating than many a keynote speech at a conference.
Norway – fjords, saunas and a pinch of madness
The second winter adventure is Tromsø – a place where the mountains literally descend into the sea. Here, incentive travel takes on a whole new meaning. Trekking requires crampons, but is still accessible to everyone. The views are spectacular.
After a day spent in the mountains, it’s time for something special: a floating sauna. A wooden barge that is also a restaurant, a viewing point and a place to relax. We sail out into the fjords, and when the sun breaks through the clouds, we bathe in its rays while sitting in a hot sauna. This is what a winter incentive trip looks like, combining integration, relaxation and authentic experiences. Read more about how to spend your time in Tromsø.
Iceland – raw beauty that is addictive
Snow-covered volcanoes, ice caves, hot springs and unpredictable weather create a backdrop you will never forget. March is the perfect time to see the island in its wildest form. As the old Icelandic proverb says: ‘There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing.’
During our winter incentive trips to Iceland, we organise activities such as exploring ice caves, bathing in hot springs, cruises on glacial lagoons and evenings with Icelandic cuisine and live music. This is a destination for teams who want to combine challenge with aesthetic delight.
Why is winter incentive travel worth considering?
Incentive trips during this period are an opportunity to pause, catch your breath and feel a true sense of community. When it’s freezing outside and the group is warming up inside, magic happens.
Winter incentive travel is not just about integration. It is also a perfect metaphor: together through difficult conditions, together on the way to the goal. Every step together in the snow, every fire lit in the middle of the night – it is a story of cooperation, trust and joint effort.
